Baked Brie with Fruit and Nuts

Brie is a creamy cheese that has a very mild flavour. This means that it contrasts really well with sweetness, saltiness and texture.

If you do not like the funk of cheese, this will not only be a great starting point to open your taste buds to the world of cheeses, but it's also a perfect party centerpiece.

Ingredients

A wheel of brie (with the rind)

15g of fruit of choice (I chose strawberries)

15g of nuts of choice (I chose walnuts)

Drizzle of honey or maple syrup

Salt

Pepper

Balsamic vinegar

Equipment

Steps:

  1. First thing's first. KEEP THE GOSH DANG RIND ON. The rind helps the cheese to hold its shape when it's baking. Yes, the rind is edible.

  2. Roughly chop your fruits and nuts of choice.

  3. Layer your baking tray with a sheet of baking paper.

  4. Place your brie cheese wheel onto the baking tray, drizzle some honey, sprinkle those chopped fruit and nuts on top and give it a tiny drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Don't forget to season it with a bit of salt too.

  5. Bake it at 175-180°C for about 15-20 minutes.

  6. Serve it with crackers, coffee or more fruit!
